Author Biography

Michael Charles Tobias is the author of nearly 50 books, many hundreds of essays, and the writer, director, and/or producer of some 170 films. He is probably best known for his novel, The Adventures of Mr Marigold. Tobias lives with his life-long partner and wife, the prolific ecologist, explorer, author, filmmaker, photographer, musician and philanthropist, Jane Gray Morrison, whose own books and films include such works as God's Country: The New Zealand Factor, "A Day in the Life of Ireland," "Antarctica: The Last Continent," the ten-hour dramatic miniseries, "Voice of the Planet," Donkey: The Mystique of Equus Asinus, the PBS feature film trilogy, "Mad Cowboy," "No Vacancy," and "Hotspots," the coffee table work, Sanctuary: Global Oases of Innocence, Why Life Matters: Fifty Ecosystems From the Heart & Mind, and - as Goodwill Ambassador to Ecuador's Yasuní National Park - the film "Yasuní - A Meditation on Life" that premiered at the United Nations Rio+20 Summit.
