Nantahala was a very booming community in the 1940s with the Nantahala Lake and dam just being completed and the Crowser band-saw mill employing a lot of the men in the community. There were several logging jobs in the community including one that my Granddad owned and operated. These memories are about Nantahala's people and times as I remember them. Perhaps someone else may remember some of the memories I have a little differently than I do, but that's ok. I still feel the need to write them down so that future generations might know what Nantahala was like.
