Author Biography

Poe was a prolific writer, sometimes editor, in a number of genres. Though he is most famous for his horror stories, his three detective novels created a genre that is still thriving today -- the amateur sleuth. Though he only lived to be 40 years old, his legacy is broad in American literature and abroad.
