by Miranda Romano (Author)
Blackout poetry is about discovery. It involves creating something new out of an existing piece of writing. Through the blackout form, this collection explores what it means to live and grow old in the twenty-first century. Exsanguinations refers to the draining of blood, similar to the way the poems have been drawn out of the existing work to breathe a life of their own.
