This book is a compilation of the most useful conventions and treatments from experts over many decades, with logical alternative solutions to the more ambiguous popular methods. Losing-trick count underlies nearly all bidding decisions. Defensive carding strategies, odd-even discards, effective leads, and deceptive techniques are presented, as well.
Author Biography
During his college days, Mr. Loney met two presidents while a student intern in the nation's capital, and he played the cello in the Richmond Symphony Orchestra. He subsequently served three tours of duty in coastal South Vietnam as a boat group commander while attached to a U. S. Naval amphibious ship. Mr. Loney's introduction to duplicate bridge involved a shocking spousal altercation, while playing with his grandmother! In recent years, he published articles in the Bridge Bulletin. After a career in commercial real estate appraisal and sales, he retired to Laguna Woods Village, where he balances bridge with golf, dancing, and concerts.
