by Charles E. Hayes (Author)
Possibly the most significant victory in Kentucky during the American Revolution was the 1778 defense of Fort Boonesborough. The British and their Indian allies ignored the other two main forts in Kentucky and focused all their efforts on capturing Fort Boonesborough. Daniel Boone and men like Samuel Walter defended the fort with the courageous pioneer men and women inside. If Boonesborough fell, Kentucky would fall.
