BOOKS BITES AND MURDER is a unique mystery novel, spiked with family drama and a touch of romance. Lyme disease is referenced throughout the book, and many people have become ill due to this bug. The author was one of these victims, many years ago. Few, if any fiction books are on the market mentioning this disease. This story is inspiring and informative with a killer twist until the very last page. Taking place in Highland Falls, a small seaside town on the New England coastline, and it is 167 pages long. Zoey Mitchell is the main character, a charismatic and determined young woman who was chronically afflicted by Lyme disease, seven years ago. It portrays her struggle to live through and survive this ordeal. Zoey is well liked in town as the former librarian and is now the proprietor of Sips and Swap. This breakfast and lunch eatery is adjoined by a book swap area for patrons. The mystery begins in the very first chapter when a body is found buried behind the Tuckerman Library. Although she resigned as the librarian a year ago, residents rely on Zoey and trust her judgement. Soon, people overrun her eatery, concerned about the murder in their town. The characters in this novel are real, as if you were in the room listening to, laughing or crying with them. Lots of humor throughout these pages and Zoey's three rescue cats are her true companions. While the mystery occurs in a seaside village in Connecticut it also includes other interesting spots where key characters spend their lives. Traveling to London, St. Maarten and St. Barthelemy as the murder case is finally resolved makes this story appealing to readers.
